We are offering four free weekly workshops for students in level 120 or above who want to improve and practise their English skills for working with customers in a restaurant, cafe, bar, or another hospitality environment. These workshops will be especially valuable for students who are looking to gain confidence and prepare for their first job in Canada.
Workshop 1: Serving Customers 1
You will learn how to…

greet customers appropriately.

use appropriate language to serve customers (take orders, ask necessary follow-up questions [e.g. sides, size, add-ons, how customers want things cooked, etc.], check satisfaction with food, offer suggestions, take payments, close conversations).

understand and respond to basic customer requests in a restaurant, cafe, or bar.

discuss examples of good and bad service.

1.Do I need to go to all four workshops?
No, you don’t need to come to all four workshops. You can come to just one, two, three, or four workshops. It’s your choice.
2. Do I need to pay for these workshops?
No, we are offering these workshops to all core 120-level CCEL students for free.
3. Will I get a certificate?
You will get a certificate if you attend two or more workshops.
